Indica/Sativa: Indica Dominant Hybrid
Sorbet is a strain that has some confusion surrounding it. While DNA Genetics have created multiple variants of Sorbet crosses, there remains almost no information on the original Sorbet strain, even on its lineage. In fact, it is one of the few established genetics used by a large breeder, to lack any kind of Seedfinder information. What we do know, is that this is an Indica dominant strain.
As with all the Trichoma stock we received, this bud was truly top shelf and came with a magnificent dense bud with a frosty coating of trichomes. Colouration was excellent, with vibrant green calyxes hidden under the trichomes, which was accented with only a few dull orange pistils visible on the nug. Harvest was on point too, with about 10-20% amber trichome coverage.
Taste & Smell
If we were to fault any part of this bud, it would be that perhaps it dried a little quickly after harvest, as there wasn’t much of an initial scent before grinding. However, once ground this strain came to life with an extremely sharp, sweet smell that came across like candy. This scent carried over into the smoke, and from inhale to aftertaste, we were left with that sweet and candy-like appeal. A smooth smoke through and through, being very gentle on the throat.
Despite being an Indica dominant strain, the Sorbet strain comes with an almost balanced high as an initial wave of a head high set in. The transition from head to body was slower than some other hybrids and retained much of the Sativa elements throughout the high. We definitely felt the body relaxation after about 30 minutes into the high, while still retaining focus and a fair level of energy. This definitely didn’t give us any couch lock experience, but instead seemed well renowned.
