Herbal Salve Topical

Supplied by: Travis Mocke

We were given this topical rub a while back by Travis, but wanted to ensure we had enough real life applications to test on before putting out a review. The topical is made from organic coconut oil and high THC cannabis, it uses a 300:1 ratio, making these 100 gram containers consist of 1/3 gram THC.

There have been studies done on the properties of coconut oils in general and their effects on skin. The results of the study showed evidence of both anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogenic and anti-microbial properties. Many of the same benefits that coconut oils contain, have been shown to exist in cannabis as well. So combining the two together, offers a great option for a broad topical applicant.

With the healing properties contained in both cannabis and coconut oil, this topical can serve to assist with a variety of skin conditions including, but not limited to: warts, eczema, joint and muscle pain, psoriasis, bruising and as we came to learn, also bee stings.

We tested initially on eczema, something that I’ve suffered with my whole life. During a flare, I used a small amount of the oil on one side of the butterfly rash. The next day, it did appear to be marginally less inflamed and smoother than the other affected side.

Further testing was done when my partner suffered a bee sting. After struggling to sooth it, we remembered the topical in the fridge and decided to apply some to the sting area. There was an immediate soothing effect, and inflammation around the sting seemed to lessen.

We will continue to test this product in other applications, however from our limited experience with it, it has worked in soothing skin inflammation in particular. It serves as a great option for skin relief and seems to last very well, as a small amount of oil goes a long way.
